Fire officials say at least 10 people were displaced following a three-alarm fire in Paterson.
Paterson Fire Chief Brian McDermott says one of the buildings in the fire was occupied, while another building was vacant. He says the fire started in the vacant building before spreading to the occupied building.
Officials say someone was potentially in the vacant building. Fire officials say the fire was contained within three hours.
Contractors were seen boarding up the windows of the buildings affected.
The Red Cross says it's assisting the families. No injuries were reported.
McDermott says he hopes the vacant building is condemned and taken down by the city.
