Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson opens Saturday, with a new ride swinging and spinning 17 stories high.

Six Flags bills the "Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth" as the world's tallest pendulum ride.

It takes riders to speeds of up to 75 mph as they rise and fall again and again.

Passengers sit in shoulder-harnessed chairs that face outward along the circumference of two massive spoked wheels.

The wheels are fixed to opposite ends of a gargantuan axle that swings up and down like a pendulum to a height of about 170 feet as the rising and falling wheels spin on the axel.

In addition, the amusement park plans to open the new Calypso Springs area of its Hurricane Harbor water park in May.

The area includes a new beach-entry style pool and an obelisk-like geyser.
