Brick native, once diagnosed with leukemia, now a U.S. Marine

A native of Brick, once diagnosed with leukemia, is now a U.S. Marine.
Michael Campofiori’s path through basic training in Parris Island in South Carolina would never have happened if not for his determination to be a U.S. Marine.
When Campofiori was 11 years old, he was diagnosed with leukemia, but five years later, he beat it.
But his medical history prevented the military from accepting him.
Campofiori applied to the Marines, and was denied four times, and finally, he got in.
He's currently in North Carolina at the school of infantry, beginning his Marine career.
