State police say a woman was killed after her car veered off a Route 55 in Deptford Township and struck several trees.

The 26-year-old driver was traveling southbound when she left the highway Tuesday around 9:15 p.m.

The woman, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The woman's name has not been released pending notification of her relatives.

No other injuries were reported in the crash and authorities say no other vehicles were involved.

The accident forced authorities to shut down a stretch of the highway for several hours, causing some traffic delays.
