Manasquan-based sandwich shop Jersey Mike’s Subs held its annual “Day of Giving” and donated 100 percent of Wednesday’s sales to some local charities.

A majority of the 78 stores in New Jersey will be donating to the state's Make-a-Wish Foundation chapter.

The nationwide initiative raised more than $6 million for charity during last year’s event – with New Jersey locations raising nearly $390,000.

The chain has raised more than $34 million since 2010 and has distributed more than 2 million free sandwiches to help out numerous causes.
