St. John's falls, Iona hopes to stir up 'Madness' in NCAA Tournament

March Madness is here! Now it's time to fill out your bracket.
Lower New York had two teams in this year's NCAA Tournament, both of which needed an upset to advance out of the 1st round.
St. John’s returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015. The Red Storm grabbed a No. 11 seed.
But because they were among the last teams given a bid, they had to win a play-in game to even play in the first round.
Their dreams were dashed with a 74-65 loss at the hands of the Sun Devils.
Iona is also back in The Big Dance.
Despite starting off 2-9, the Gaels won their final 10 games to grab their fourth-straight automatic bid to the tournament.
They will be a No. 16 seed and face the mighty No. 1 seed UNC Tar Heels.
Only one 16 seed has ever beat a 1 seed, but it happened just last season, when No. 16 UMBC defeated No. 1 Virginia.
Iona’s shot at being the next huge upset tips off Friday at 9:20 p.m.
