Authorities say a man from Lafayette Township was killed when a tree he was cutting down on his property fell on him.

The incident happened Sunday at his home on Beaver Run Road.

According to police, Stephen Race, 64, was using a chainsaw to cut through the tree near his house when it fell on him.

Police say a neighbor found him and called police.

Race was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Race was apparently alone at the time and his death is not suspicious.
