An Uber driver is claiming his passenger assaulted him and tried to choke him with his seatbelt following a ride on the Palisades Interstate Parkway.

Uber driver claims passenger tried to choke him with seatbelt
An Uber driver is claiming his passenger assaulted him and tried to choke him with his seatbelt following a ride on the Palisades Interstate Parkway.
The incident happened Friday around 9:30 p.m. in Englewood Cliffs.
According to police, Delacruz Taveras, 21, of Haverstraw, New York, stopped his vehicle on the highway to alert a police officer of the attack. 
The officer was already on the side of the road for an unrelated traffic stop. 
Velacruz said his passenger, Joseph Coyle, 44, of Stony Point, New York, hit him and tried to choke him with his seatbelt while he was traveling south on the highway.
Coyle was arrested and now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
