HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) - A man has pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in the stabbing deaths of his father and mother in their New Jersey home.

The North Jersey Record reports that 43-year-old Pawel Boduch entered the plea at his first court appearance Friday in Hackensack.

Bergen County prosecutors say 71-year-old Edward Boduch and 72-year-old Miroslawa Potocka were found stabbed to death Feb. 16 in their Englewood home.

Authorities said their son, who also lived in the home, was apprehended later in the day at a supermarket a few miles away. Police say they found a blood-stained knife in his bedroom.

A detention hearing scheduled to determine whether Boduch should remain in custody pending trial was postponed to allow defense attorney Ilene McFarland to familiarize herself with the case.
