Police: Classmate gives teen weed gummy bears to ‘stop her from stressing out’

Police in Fair Lawn say a 14-year-old girl was sickened by gummy bears which turned out to be a marijuana edible, given to her by one of her classmates.
According to police, they responded to the area of Fair Lawn Avenue at Plaza Road and saw the girl had thrown up numerous times and was not feeling like herself.
The girl says a 13-year-old female classmate gave her the candy, claiming it would "stop her from stressing out."
A hospital found the gummy bears had marijuana in them after testing the victim.
The candy was also given to other students during school hours.
The girl who distributed the candy will be charged on a juvenile petition in family court.
Witness statements also led to the arrest of Jeffrey Klein, 48, of Fair Lawn.
Klein was released after being charged with possession of hashish under five grams.
