Several inches of snow coat Morris County during February storm

Morris County residents dealt with several inches of snow Tuesday as a winter storm moved across the state.
Almost all the specialty stores that historic downtown Chester is known for were closed as the snow and sleet made traveling around the area difficult.
Maria’s coffee shop was one of the few places still open when News 12 New Jersey crews went through the area Tuesday afternoon. But the owner said that the shop would soon be closing for the day.
On old Route 24 from Chester to Morristown, News 12 crews found slushy and slippery roadways.
Ice pellets were falling from the sky in Morristown Tuesday afternoon, having changed over from the snow. Lauren Crisler and her daughter Joyce were out enjoying the snow day.
“This is the first sled time. The first time we have taken the sled, so it’s a big deal,” Crisler said.
Morris County was one of the few places in New Jersey to see snow. Most of central and southern New Jersey saw mostly icy sleet and rain.
