The Great Kindness Challenge week continues, and one school in Cedar Grove is teaching kids that kindness rocks, in all sense of the word.
Memorial Middle School has participated in the challenge for five years now.
As one of the kindness activities this year, nearly 500 students painted and decorated rocks with words of kindness.
The decorations will then be sent to various places, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and shelters across our state.
“You can have fun,” says sixth-grader Olivia Ricco. “You know, it goes to someone special or important and you can make them smile.”
Lia Caravella says the kids participate in acts of kindness all year long through their kindness club.
“It’s something that can make a difference in someone’s life and it doesn't take that much time for students to make other people feel happy and special,” says Caravella.
In addition to the challenge, the school is currently holding fundraising efforts to open a health clinic in Liberia.
