1 injured when fire rips through Paterson apartment building

Authorities in Paterson are investigating after an early morning fire that tore through a downtown apartment building.

Officials say the blaze sparked around 3:30 a.m., damaging 11 apartments and displacing many occupants.

The manager News 12 at least one person is injured, and the person was inside the apartment where the fire started.

The injured person taken to the hospital and their condition is unknown.

Fire officials are working to determine the cause of the fire. The Red Cross has been called.
