A woman from Belmar suffered severe injuries to her hand and wrist following a terrifying raccoon attack.
The Monmouth County SPCA sent out a photo of the animal after it was captured Thursday night.
The animal attacked Audrey DiPasquale, 83, Wednesday morning, causing severe injuries to her hand and wrist.
A neighbor grabbed a shovel and hit the raccoon until it ran off.
Audrey was given a first round of rabies shots at the hospital.
The SPCA says it's possible the raccoon was rabid or protecting babies.
