WALL TOWNSHIP -

The Wall Township Wrestling Booster Club came together this weekend to support children with life-threatening illnesses.

The tournament raised money in honor of 9-year-old Grace Philhower, who was battling brain cancer in its inaugural year. Philhower is now in remission.

“The wrestling community really came out today,” says Wall Wrestling Booster Club board member Michael Parnell. “We actually had to stop enrollment at 400 wrestlers, which is unheard of these days.”

Organizers say 50 percent of the profits made from the event will go to Jason's Dreams for Kids, an organization that fulfills the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses through a variety of fundraising events as well as individual and corporate donations.

They say they were overwhelmed by the turnout.
