Tenafly police officer helps crossing guard find missing diamond ring

A Tenafly police officer is making New Jersey proud with his “eagle eyes.”
Tenafly school crossing guard Kathy Iannantuano was helping a kid get to school on Monday when she noticed that the diamond in her wedding ring had fallen out. Iannantuano’s husband died a few years ago. She said that the ring was 52 years old and she was heartbroken.
Enter Tenafly Police Officer Louis Smaragdakis. He soon joined the search for the missing diamond and spotted it near the curb 20 minutes later.
The diamond is now back on Iannantuano’s finger thanks to Officer Smaragdakis.
