Some New Jersey residents could see a slick Tuesday morning commute due to some winter weather expected to make its way through the state.

Forecasters predict a wintry mix during Monday’s overnight hours, which could potentially impact parts of northwestern New Jersey.

The Morris County Office of Emergency Management says that trucks are prepped with rock salt and plows in case roadways need to be cleared. Director Jeff Paul says that the timing of the potential weather event is working out in everyone’s favor.

“Everybody can go home, throw a log on the fire. Stay home. Stay off the roads for the night and let the road crews do their thing,” Paul says. “[Tuesday] it should be in the 30s and 40s and we should see some melting.”

Paul says that extra emergency staff has also been added for the night to prepare for any unforeseen circumstances.
