Netflix has issued a warning to viewers: please don't participate in the #BirdBoxChallenge.

Fans have been inspired by the Sandra Bullock horror movie, attempting to do things blindfolded like her character does in the film.

They then post the videos on social media.

Netflix sent out this tweet: “Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”

The streaming service announced last month in a tweet more than 45 million Netflix accounts had streamed Bird Box, which set a new record for the best-ever first week for a Netflix film.
