A single mom from Elizabeth got a new of wheels thanks in part to a national program called Recycled Rides.
Jane Ogwu and her daughter Alexandra were presented with a 2016 Nissan Altima. Ogqu was nominated by the nonproft Family Promise of Union County, which teamed up with Geico and Koplin Auto Body in Elizabeth to make it happen. The car was located, refurbished, made like new and topped off with a big, red bow.
"I was going through some hard times and I made a phone call and Family Promise came to the rescue," Ogwu says.
"I'm feeling blessed that I'm able to give back to someone that really needs it and can use it, and it makes a big change in their life," says Adele Rivas, co-owner of Koplin Auto Body.
Alexandra has even picked out a name for their new car: Steve Williams.
