The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is offering a special treat for kids who are home for winter break.
The Kids Week program is for parents who are looking to keep their kids busy on their days off from school.
Marine Park Urban Park Ranger Michael Veres tells News 12 Brooklyn that there are three programs being offered on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week – each offering different nature-based, hands-on activities, like making bird feed, starting a fire and surviving in the wilderness.
Veres says that all classes are free and start at 1 p.m.
