Authorities: 19-year-old killed in West New York shooting

WEST NEW YORK -

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim shot and killed in West New York over the weekend.

Authorities say that 19-year-old Steven Flores, of Union City, was shot just after 12 a.m. Sunday near 61st Street and Park Avenue. Flores was taken to Jersey City Medical Center but was pronounced dead about an hour later. Police say that Flores was shot in the neck.

Another person was also shot, but his injuries were not considered to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made.
