Santa's Sleigh: Essex County Sheriff's Office donates presents to kids

The Essex County Sheriff's Office is putting their own spin on Santa's Sleigh to help donate presents to kids.
A contingent pulled up in front of the Salvation Army in Newark, just one of more than 50 stops they are doing over two days to donate presents to kids.
For the Salvation Army alone, News 12 is told this will provide 1,000 gifts.
The department says it gets so many volunteers, they have to turn some of their men and women away.
"There's thousands and thousands of toys that all the officers and the public donate,” says James Spango, Essex County Sheriff Department deputy chief. “We take them around the city.  It's a labor of love that the officers and the community enjoy giving back and this is one of the best days of the year."
The Sheriff's Office begins collecting toys as early as March, and will be making stops at schools and churches as well.
