Santa's workshop in Port Jefferson benefits children with cancer

Santa's workshop is up and running in Port Jefferson, and all donations go toward a foundation that supports families with children battling cancer.
The satellite workshop can be found on West Broadway. Pat Darling created a fantasy land of gingerbread and candy canes as a way to give back to the community.
For seven years, Darling has painstakingly put together Santa's workshop piece by piece. But this year, Darling decided to use her creation to help others by collecting donations for Support the Kid, a charity that helps kids with cancer.
Jasmine O'Keefe's brother, Nicholas Wolber, died of cancer when he was in his late 20s. Since then, his family has kept his memory and wishes alive by raising thousands of dollars for families of children with cancer.
"I think it's really special, and I think it's really what Christmas is all about," O'Keefe says.
