2 firefighters injured battling house fire in Irvington

IRVINGTON -

Two Irvington firefighters were hurt Friday evening while fighting a house fire.

The fire broke out inside the basement of a home on Berkeley Terrace around 5:30 p.m.

Officials say that two firefighters suffered minor injuries, but did not disclose details. Both firefighters are expected to be OK.

This is the second time Irvington firefighters were hurt this week while battling a fire. 

The American Red Cross is at the scene of the fire assisting the residents who are displaced.

The cause of the fire was not immediately made clear.
