An extensive child pornography sweep in Monmouth County led to the arrests of 15 people, including a Princeton University administrator, a bank executive and a juvenile boy under the age of 18.
Monmouth County prosecutors say "Operation Trading Post" lasted from June through October of this year, with two arrests taking place in November. The defendants - 14 men and a juvenile boy - are all charged with child endangerment.
Prosecutors say most of the defendants are accused of uploading child porn to different social media and file-sharing platforms.
“The reason we run cases like this through our internet crimes against children taskforce is because we're trying to reduce the number of threats to Monmouth County children but also reduce the child exploitation market that people thrive on,” said Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni.
The prosecutor’s office also says that one of the 15, 64-year-old William McMahon, was chatting online with an undercover agent he believed was a teenage boy. He's also charged with luring and attempted sexual assault.
Princeton University employee Gregory Cantrell, 61, was placed on administrative leave, according to a university spokesperson.
The Associated Press wire services contributed to this report.
