Saturday’s heavy rain may have been the cause of a sinkhole under a home in Sayreville.
Officials say the resident of the home on Standiford Avenue was evacuated after the basement collapsed.
They say the basement was likely undermined by the rain.
Crews are working to stabilize the house.
