Police dog injured during investigation released from hospital

MANTOLOKING -

A K-9 from Ocean County who was stabbed Monday was released from the animal hospital Wednesday morning.

K-9 Officer Kane was released around 9:30 a.m. from the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, surrounded by dozens of law enforcement officials.

According to the Ocean County Prosecutor, the sheriff's dog was stabbed by Edward Walsh, 39, Monday in a home in Mantoloking.  

K-9 Officer Kane will continue his recovery at home.
