Johnson’s death marks the third homicide in Montclair since April, when Akirah Townes was stabbed to death outside a Harley Street home. Townes’ ex-boyfriend is accused in that crime.

Last month, Angela Bledsoe was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend and father of her child, James Ray III, inside their home. Ray was arrested a few weeks later in Cuba. Court documents say that Ray confessed to the killing in a note.
