New Jersey Transit says a woman was struck and killed by a train in Essex County early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. in Montclair. The agency says service was briefly suspended on the Montclair-Boonton line but later resumed with some delays.

The victim was identified as Joan Juengling. No other injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation.
