NEW BRUNSWICK -

A Rutgers University football player is accused of plotting to kill the family member of an acquaintance, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities say that Izaia Bullock was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

The prosecutor’s office says that on Oct. 29 Bullock initiated the murder plot. The intended victims are not affiliated with Rutgers University, according to officials. Officials did not provide any other details about the plot or the intended victims.

Bullock is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a court appearance.

Anyone who may have additional information about the case is asked to call Rutgers University Police Detective Lauren Tredo at 848-932-8025 or Detective Michael Connelly of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-3254.
