It is Fire Prevention Month and officials are giving tips on how to stay safe in case of a fire.

The chief safety instructor says fire prevention is a family affair and to always be prepared to expect the unexpected.

The interactive museum provides ways for children to learn about the history of the fire service across Long Island, and helps them learn about fire safety.
