Youth football team raises funds to compete at national championship

A youth football team is holding a fundraiser so players can compete for a national title in Florida.
The Bridgeport Chargers hope to raise enough money to cover their travel to the Sunshine State.
The players kicked off an appeal to the public on Park Avenue in Bridgeport.
The championships for the American Youth Football League are set for early December.
"We're just reaching out to the community to ask them to help us fund this trip so we can represent our city in a way that will transform all the negativity to positives because these kids work hard each and every day, and not only do they deserve it, they earned the right to compete at the national level in Florida," said Lawrence Richardson.
