Police: Man attacks bride with sword after altercation in hotel lobby

A New York businessman is facing charges after he allegedly attacked a bride with a sword after an altercation in a hotel lobby.
Hardyston police say that officers were called to the Grand Cascades Lodge in Hamburg Saturday night for reports of a man with a knife.
When officers arrived, they found Carlos Mejia in custody by hotel security.
Police say that witnesses told the officers that Mejia was walking around the hotel lobby with a sword and got into an argument with wedding guests after they refused to give him cigarettes. The witnesses said that Mejia went back into this room, but that the wedding guests continued the argument by yelling at him through the door.
That’s when Mejia allegedly exited his room and began swinging the sword, striking the bride in the left arm.
The bride, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital but was not seriously injured.
Mejia was charged with aggravated assault. He was supposedly at the hotel on a business trip.
