Riverdale Temple welcomes back members with barbecue to celebrate Sukkot

A Riverdale temple held its annual barbecue Sunday.
Members of Riverdale Temple came together to celebrate Sukkot, a Jewish festival held to commemorate the sheltering of the Israelites in the wilderness.
The temple had a sukkah, or temporary hut, built for the holiday to give those celebrating a place to dwell.
The festival also served to welcome people back from the summer and a chance to meet members of the temple's community.
The cantor of the temple says the school, now named the Simcha Learning Center, has grown and gotten a new director.
"We train children towards their Bar and Bat Mitzvah," said Inbal Sharett-Singer. "We teach them Hebrew, holidays, the Torah in a really fun environment."
