St. Nicholas’ Greek festival will be held in Wyckoff this weekend.
The annual event started Friday and will last through Sunday evening.
St. Nicholas Parish Council President Nick Prisos says that the festival features all of the Greek cuisine favorites like lamb and chicken gyros and grilled octopus.
“Once a year I have to indulge myself and go for the gyro,” Prisos says.
There is also a wine tent featuring wines made from the grapes of the Ionian Islands
Prisos says that some of the proceeds from the festival will go to benefit the community.
“Ten percent of our net profits go out to community outreach. Las year we did $20,000 in outreach. One of our favorite things to do is to help the community,” he says.
The festival is open from 12 p.m. until 11 p.m. Saturday and from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday.
