Entrepreneurs open pop-up shop that also benefits NJ charity

A new pop-up clothing shop recently opened in Westfield, and the owners are also giving back to a New Jersey charity.
Luxury Garage Sale (LGS) was created by two mothers from the Midwest who say that they are redefining what it means to be a consignment shop.
“We wanted to take away that antiquated consignment store and make it like you were shopping at a luxe boutique,” says co-founder Lindsay Segal.
The shops carry fashion labels like Chanel, Celine, Louis Vuitton and Valentino at discount prices.
Segal says that LGS has opened pop-up shops in 10 different cities and now they are in Westfield. The founders also pick a local charity to give back to. In New Jersey, they have chosen the TEARS Foundation.
“The TEARS Foundation is a nonprofit that offers assistance for families when they've suffered the loss of a baby through pregnancy or infant loss,” says Linda Ostapovich, the TEARS Foundation New Jersey chapter leader.
Ostapovich says that TEARS is able to offer emotional and financial support for families who have lost babies.
Segal says that it made a lot of sense for LGS to team up with the organization.
“We actually have a lot of young moms at LGS. We're a very mom-friendly community.  We were just really struck by all the work TEARS does to support families in really difficult times,” she says.
LGS is donating 10 percent of all of Wednesday’s sales at the Westfield pop-up to the TEARS Foundation.
