Officials from Gov. Phil Murphy's office, as well as representatives from Brick Township, met with residents this morning concerning various issues following the floods that affected so many.

The meeting was open to all Brick residents at the Greenbriar I adult community clubhouse.

A representative from the governor’s office, as well officials with Ocean County Consumer Affairs, were on hand and one of the most important topics was informing residents in how to spot shady contractors.

Daily patrols are taking place after an unregistered, Newark-based contractor was caught soliciting work there.

Contractors are often looking to prey upon the victims who had already lost so much, mostly seen during SuperStorm Sandy.

Within the past two months, two Sandy-related contractors were just sentenced to jail time.

Residents are reminded to contact the Ocean County Department of Consumer Affairs if they find anything suspicious.
