Police: Teen struck during West Babylon house shooting

Police say a teen was shot early Wednesday morning when someone opened fire on a home in West Babylon.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Westchester Avenue, between Sword and State streets.
The 17-year-old male was shot in the leg and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim’s family had no comment about the shooting.
Police say the incident doesn't appear to be random. They are hoping surveillance video from the victim's home security cameras and other cameras on the street will help them track down a suspect.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
