Dozens hospitalized after crash on NJ Turnpike

EAST BRUNSWICK -

A bus crash on the New Jersey Turnpike has sent dozens of people to the hospital.

The incident happened northbound near East Brunswick.

According to officials, the bus was coming back from Newark Mayor Ras Baraka's annual picnic in Millstone around 5:30 p.m. when a car hit the bus and then sped off.

State police say both adults and children were on board.

Video from earlier this evening shows the bus being attended to by emergency officials.

Those 33 families, are recovering at RWJ University and JFK Medical Center.

The 42 people sent to the hospital are facing non-life threatening injuries.
