Stockton University is eyeing a purchase of a now-shuttered casino in Atlantic City.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, the university's board of trustees is meeting Wednesday to discuss buying the closed Atlantic Club Casino Hotel.
The Atlantic Club is located near the university's Atlantic City campus, which is set to open this month.
University spokeswoman Diane D'Amico says they are looking at the property as part of their commitment to help revitalize the city.
Florida-based TJM purchased the Atlantic Club for $13.5 million in 2014.
The real estate agency would demolish the hotel tower but keep the parking garage as part of the potential sale.
D'Amico says the university's sale of the Seaview Resort for $21.07 million last week has allowed them to pursue buying the Atlantic Club.
AP wire services helped contribute to this report.
