State police: Woman fatally struck in hit-in-run

A hit-and-run at a residential center for the developmentally disabled has left a woman dead.
State police say the victim was hit Friday at the New Lisbon Developmental Center in Woodland Township.
They say the driver took off and the woman, who has not yet been publicly identified, died at the hospital.
The New Jersey Department of Human Services, which oversees the center, released a statement saying, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident. We share in the sadness and send prayers and condolences to the victim's family and friends.”
The agency directed all other questions about the investigation to state police.
