National Hot Dog Day celebrates summertime favorite
Today was National Hot Dog Day – a day dedicated to celebrating a summertime barbecue favorite.
Many eateries around the Garden State featured special hot dog promotions, such as $1 hot dogs.
There are many hot dog restaurants around New Jersey, including Hot Dog Johnny’s in Buttzville, Wonder Wiener in Beachwood and Rutt’s Hut in Clifton.
Wonder Wiener is currently closed after a car crashed into the hot dog stand, injuring the owner.
Rutt’s Hut was recently named the best hot dog in the country.
A national survey also found out everyone’s favorite hot dog toppings. No surprise, No. 1 is mustard, followed by chili and relish. Ketchup is ranked No. 10.
