Local retailers feel the pressure of Amazon Prime Day

Amazon Prime Day sales are now in full swing, although they're putting pressure on smaller, local retailers.
The online giant is featuring deals on toys, electronics and all kinds of other products.
Mom-and-pop retailers like Hobbytown in Fairfield say the convenience of online shopping can make it hard for small stores to compete. Owner Marc Rosenblum says some benefits to in-store shopping include actually being able to see a product before making a purchase, as well as being able to talk to a sales associate about it.
If consumers do not continue to support their local shops, Rosenblum says it could change the face of places like downtown Fairfield forever.
"What's gonna happen in our local communities, they're gonna be devoid of local shopping," he says. "And that's gonna detract from our local communities."
