NFL player Anthony Fasano teamed up with the organization Backpacks for Life for a fundraiser to benefit homeless veterans Sunday.
The organization provides homeless veterans with backpacks filled with basic essential supplies. It was founded by Brett D’Alessandro, a former sergeant in the Marines.
“It’s like their mobile house when they are homeless,” he said. “We want to give them the best house possible.”
Ninety-three cents per dollar of the proceeds from Fasano’s annual Bocce Ball tournament was donated to Backpacks for Life.
