Police say a man is in custody after barricading himself inside a condo Friday morning following a domestic incident.
They say the incident started around 4:30 a.m. when a neighbor called in about the domestic incident. A heavy police presence still remains near West Avenue, just north of Boston Post Road.
Police say when they arrived to the scene, a woman was in the parking lot injured. They say she was taken to the hospital with cuts and bruises, but has since been released.
The woman told authorities her boyfriend had several long guns in the condo, which prompted police to evacuate several people who live in the area.
"We're going to exercise caution here. The safety of everyone involved. We'll work our way through this, hopefully peacefully and bring it to a resolution," Milford Police Officer Mike Devito said.
Officials say the man was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
