Two people were killed in a single-car crash on Route 8 overnight in Trumbull, state police say.

It happened just south of Exit 7. Investigators say the car left the roadway, crashed into a large rock wall and rolled over.

Police have identified one of the victims as 22-year-old Indira Kranwinkel, of Bridgeport.

Police say Kranwinkel was in the passenger seat and was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The male driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been identified.

It marks the second deadly crash on Route 8 in a week. The previous incident, which happened near Exit 5, had followed a police pursuit that started in Bridgeport after an armed robbery.
