Eat Caribbean Week kicks off in Brooklyn

Eat Caribbean Week kicked off in Brooklyn on Sunday as part of a larger celebration of National Caribbean Heritage Month.
This week focuses on Caribbean-inspired options for everyone to enjoy at a reasonable price. Some island favorites include traditional dishes like steed, jerk curried meats and vegetarian options.
The owner of the restaurant Sugar Cane says it’s a chance for New Yorkers and tourists to try Caribbean food without having to leave Brooklyn.
Sugar Cane is one of the 20 restaurants participating in this year's Eat Caribbean.
Eat Caribbean Week ends June 24.
