Attorneys for a school superintendent accused of defecating on another school’s athletic field have requested access to the full surveillance video that allegedly shows the act.

Thomas Tramaglini was silent as he entered and exited the Holmdel Municipal Court Tuesday. He's charged with public defecation, lewdness and littering.

Attorney Matthew Adams says that snippets of the video he was provided were “compromised” and says that the original date of the recording was not placed in the video itself.

The judge told them to return for a hearing on the videos at a later date.

Authorities say that 42-year-old Tramaglini, the superintendent of Kenilworth schools, was caught in April following an early morning run at Holmdel High School's athletic facilities. Police said staff members were watching to see who'd been leaving human feces on the property.

Several parents of Holmdel school students came to court to watch the proceedings and say that they were shocked by what they heard.

“As disturbing as you could possibly imagine. If someone is leaving human feces at your kid’s school or on your kid's track, there's a lot of weird stuff going on in the world today. This is probably pretty much up there,” said parent Adam Geller.

Tramaglini and his attorneys didn't comment as they left the courthouse.

Tramaglini is currently on paid leave from the Kenilworth School District.
