State police are still investigating the circumstances of a deadly crash along the New Jersey Turnpike.

It happened at 4:30 p.m. Friday just as the evening rush was starting to pick up on the turnpike.

Police say it involved a box truck and other vehicles colliding in the truck lane on the southbound side of the turnpike. The location of the crash was near Newark Liberty International Airport.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.    

The site of the crash is not far from Thursday afternoon's accident involving a school bus full of children from Brooklyn. In that case a bus turned over just before the toll plaza at Interchange 13. Five people on board suffered minor injuries in that incident.
