New Jersey students help out students from South Africa

Students in New Milford are making New Jersey proud by helping out others thousands of miles away.
There are about 1,000 children in South Africa who are unable to do their homework at night because they do not have any electricity.
So sixth-grade students at Solomon Schechter School in New Milford came up with a solution — solar-powered light boxes. The boxes gathered power during the day and then light up at night.
The students also gathered books to help stock the school library in South Africa so that the children will have something to read.
The boxes are expected to be delivered next month.
